About Our Products

What types of gaskets does PrecisionSeal Industries manufacture?

PrecisionSeal Industries manufactures spiral wound gaskets (CG, CGI, RIRS types), ring joint gaskets (RTJ oval and octagonal), PTFE gaskets, rubber gaskets (EPDM, NBR, Neoprene), flexible graphite gaskets, and CNAF (compressed non-asbestos fibre) gaskets. We also supply raw materials including PTFE sheets and rolls, rubber sheets, graphite sheets, and CNAF sheets. All types are available in standard and custom dimensions.

What is a spiral wound gasket and when should I use one?

A spiral wound gasket is a semi-metallic sealing element made by winding a metal strip and a soft filler (typically PTFE or graphite) in a spiral configuration. It is the preferred choice for high-pressure and high-temperature flanged connections in oil refineries, petrochemical plants, power generation, and heat exchangers. Spiral wound gaskets handle thermal cycling and pressure fluctuations without losing sealing integrity, making them ideal wherever process conditions fluctuate.

What materials are available for spiral wound gaskets?

We manufacture spiral wound gaskets with winding materials including SS 304, SS 316, SS 316L, Inconel 600, Monel 400, and carbon steel. Filler materials include PTFE (for chemical resistance), flexible graphite (for extreme heat), and mica (for very high temperature applications above 600°C). The outer and inner centering rings are available in SS 304, SS 316, or carbon steel depending on your flange and process requirements.

What is the difference between a ring joint gasket (RTJ) oval type and octagonal type?

Oval ring joint gaskets have an elliptical cross-section that seals only at two small contact lines on the groove faces, making them easy to seat and suitable for lower pressure applications. Octagonal ring joint gaskets have a flat-sided cross-section that provides greater seating contact area and superior sealing performance, particularly recommended for pressures above 5000 psi. Both types are machined from solid bar stock in materials such as SS 316, SS 304, carbon steel, and Monel. We recommend octagonal RTJ for high-pressure wellhead and pipeline connections.

Are your PTFE gaskets FDA compliant for food and pharmaceutical use?

Yes. We supply FDA-grade virgin PTFE gaskets manufactured from 100% unmodified PTFE that meets FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 for food contact applications. These gaskets are suitable for pharmaceutical processing, food and beverage lines, and other sanitary applications. Standard industrial PTFE gaskets are also available at lower cost where FDA compliance is not required. Please specify your application when requesting a quote.

Ordering & Pricing

How do I place an order with PrecisionSeal Industries?

You can place an order by calling us on xxxxxxxxx, emailing xxx@email.com, or submitting the enquiry form on our website. For standard gaskets, share the gasket type, material, nominal pipe size (NPS), pressure class, and quantity. For custom gaskets, send your engineering drawings or sketches (PDF, DWG, or even a hand-drawn sketch with dimensions works). We confirm specifications within 4 business hours and issue a quote on your approval.

Is there a minimum order quantity for gaskets?

No. PrecisionSeal Industries has no minimum order quantity. We supply single-piece samples for testing and validation as readily as we fulfill bulk orders of 5,000 pieces. Our pricing scales with quantity — the per-unit cost is lower for larger orders — but we never turn away small orders. Factory maintenance teams and OEM procurement managers are equally welcome.

Do you offer bulk or volume pricing discounts?

Yes. We offer tiered volume pricing for orders above 100 pieces, 500 pieces, and 1,000 pieces respectively. Procurement managers placing annual rate contracts receive the best pricing along with priority production scheduling. Discounts typically range from 8% to 22% depending on order size, material, and complexity. Contact us with your estimated annual volume for a customised rate contract offer.

Can you manufacture gaskets to my custom drawing or specification?

Absolutely. Custom fabrication is a core service at PrecisionSeal Industries. We manufacture gaskets from any approved drawing — whether it is a CAD file, a dimensional sketch, or an existing gasket you want replicated. Our engineering team reviews your drawing for material compatibility and dimensional feasibility before confirming. There are no tooling charges for standard profiles. For complex die-cut shapes, a one-time tooling fee may apply and will be quoted in advance.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS/IMPS), UPI, and cheque payments. For new customers, orders are processed on advance payment or against a confirmed purchase order. Established clients with a credit history may qualify for 30-day credit terms after the first three orders. All invoices are GST compliant and include HSN codes for gasket materials.

Delivery & Logistics

How fast can you deliver gaskets after an order is confirmed?

Most standard gasket orders are dispatched from our India facility within 48 hours of order confirmation and payment. Custom fabricated gaskets typically require 3–5 working days depending on complexity and quantity. For urgent maintenance orders, we offer same-day and next-day production for simple profiles when materials are in stock. Call xxxxxxxxx to check stock availability and expedite if needed.

Do you ship gaskets outside India and India?

Yes. We ship across India via reputed courier and freight partners including Blue Dart, DTDC, FedEx India, and dedicated vehicle dispatch for large orders. We regularly supply to refineries, petrochemical plants, and industrial clients in Mumbai, Goa, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Kochi, and across India. International export shipments to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa can be arranged with advance notice.

What are your packaging standards for gaskets in transit?

Gaskets are individually tagged with identification labels including material, dimensions, heat number (where applicable), and order reference. They are packed in moisture-resistant polythene bags, then placed in corrugated cartons or wooden crates depending on size. Metallic gaskets are packed with VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) paper to prevent corrosion during transit. Fragile profiles are packed with foam padding. All packing lists and MTC documents travel with the shipment.

Can you handle emergency plant shutdown orders?

Yes. Plant shutdown emergencies are a priority at PrecisionSeal Industries. Call xxxxxxxxx directly and tell our team you have an emergency requirement. We will check raw material stock immediately and confirm whether same-day or next-morning production is feasible. Over 38 years, we have fulfilled hundreds of emergency orders for refineries and process plants across India where every hour of downtime carries significant cost.

Do you provide tracking information for shipped orders?

Yes. Once your order is dispatched, we share the courier tracking number and expected delivery date via email or WhatsApp. For large freight consignments, the lorry receipt or airway bill is shared along with driver contact details. If you need to redirect a shipment or require urgent delivery updates, our sales team is reachable at xxxxxxxxx during business hours.

Technical Specifications

What is the maximum temperature that your gaskets can withstand?

Temperature ratings vary by material. Flexible graphite gaskets withstand the highest temperatures, rated continuously up to 450°C in oxidising atmospheres and up to 650°C in non-oxidising conditions. Spiral wound gaskets with graphite filler are rated to 600°C. Ring joint (RTJ) metallic gaskets handle up to 650°C. PTFE gaskets are rated to 260°C. CNAF gaskets typically operate up to 400°C. Rubber gaskets (EPDM) are limited to around 150°C. Our engineers will recommend the optimal material once you share your operating temperature.

What pressure ratings do your spiral wound gaskets cover?

Our spiral wound gaskets are manufactured for ASME B16.5 and B16.47 pressure classes from Class 150 (20 bar) up to Class 2500 (420 bar). Ring joint gaskets extend to API 6A rated working pressures of up to 1034 bar (15,000 psi) for wellhead and Christmas tree applications. If your application exceeds standard class ratings, share the actual operating pressure and we will engineer a custom solution.

Which gasket material offers the best chemical resistance?

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) offers the broadest chemical resistance of any common gasket material, resisting virtually all acids, alkalis, solvents, and oxidising agents across the pH range. For aggressive acids at high temperature, graphite gaskets are an alternative — they resist most corrosive media but are attacked by strongly oxidising acids like concentrated nitric acid and fuming sulphuric acid. Our engineers can provide a media compatibility chart for your specific process fluid on request.

What dimensional standards do your gaskets conform to?

Our gaskets are manufactured to ASME B16.20 (metallic gaskets for pipe flanges), ASME B16.21 (non-metallic gaskets), API 6A (wellhead equipment gaskets), EN 1514-1 and EN 1514-2 (spiral wound gaskets), BS 3381 (ring joint gaskets), and IS standards for domestic specifications. We also manufacture to ANSI, DIN, JIS, and other international flange standards on request.

How do I select the correct gasket for my flange pressure class?

Gasket selection depends on four main factors: nominal pipe size (NPS), flange pressure class (ASME 150 to 2500 or API 2000 to 15,000 psi), process fluid chemistry, and operating temperature range. Our engineering team can select the correct gasket once you share these parameters. As a quick guide, use CNAF or PTFE for Class 150–300 water and steam services, spiral wound graphite for Class 600–1500 hydrocarbon services, and ring joint metallic for Class 900 and above in oil and gas.

Certifications & Compliance

Is PrecisionSeal Industries API 6A certified?

Yes. PrecisionSeal Industries holds API 6A certification, the American Petroleum Institute standard for wellhead and Christmas tree equipment used in oil and gas production. API 6A certification means our gaskets meet stringent material, dimensional, and testing requirements mandated for safety-critical applications in upstream oil and gas operations. This certification is validated by regular third-party audits and is a prerequisite for supply to most refineries and upstream operators.

What is the difference between MTC 3.1 and MTC 3.2 certificates?

Both are Material Test Certificates (MTC) as defined in EN 10204. A Type 3.1 certificate is signed by the manufacturer's authorised quality representative and confirms that the material meets the specified order requirements with chemical composition and mechanical test results from the manufacturer's own laboratory. A Type 3.2 certificate is additionally signed by an independent third-party inspector such as Bureau Veritas, Lloyd's, or TÜV. Type 3.2 is required for critical applications including offshore equipment, nuclear piping, and high-pressure vessels. Both types are available from PrecisionSeal Industries on request.

Do you provide third-party inspection and witness testing for gaskets?

Yes. We facilitate third-party inspection at our India facility by approved inspection agencies including Bureau Veritas, SGS, Lloyd's Register, TÜV Rheinland, and TOYO. Inspection activities can include raw material traceability review, dimensional inspection, hydrostatic testing, hardness testing, and visual examination. Inspection notifications are issued in advance and all test records are made available to the inspector and client. Additional charges for third-party inspection will be quoted separately.

What ISO certifications does PrecisionSeal Industries hold?

We are certified to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, which governs our entire manufacturing process from raw material procurement through production, inspection, and delivery. Our quality management system ensures documented traceability, consistent dimensional control, and systematic non-conformance handling. This certification is audited annually by an accredited certification body and certificates are available for review by clients on request.

Can you supply gaskets that meet specific customer quality plan requirements?

Yes. For projects with a formal Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), we can align our production and inspection activities to meet client-specified hold points, witness points, and review points. We have experience executing quality plans for EPC contractors, oil majors, and government-owned refineries. Share your project quality plan with us at the time of enquiry and our quality team will confirm compliance before order placement.
